"As a geriatric physician for over 28 years,
I applaud The Inn at Robbins Brook for the meaningful work they
do not only for seniors in our area, but for my own three relatives.
Every month when I make house calls to my patients at the Inn and
visit my own aunt, uncle and step-aunt, I see first hand how every
aspect of the community they have created for residents has a tremendously
positive impact on their health and quality of life. From the attentive
staff at all levels to the wonderful food, social activities and
a beautiful atmosphere, they set the standard.
"As
their Medical Director, I am personally committed to helping them
maintain such a high level of care. That commitment includes monthly
in-room doctor visits provided by myself and my colleagues, doctor’s
on-call and coordinating on-site pharmacy services, physical therapy
and blood draws."
Edwin Knights, M.D., Medical Director,
The Inn at Robbins Brook & Internist for Acton Medical Associates
“We are originally from the Atlanta area,
but I now make my home in Acton. A few years ago we realized that
because of my parents declining health and their age, it was difficult
for them to take care of their big home down South and decided to
bring them to New England. Due to my mom’s stroke and my dad
breaking a hip, both of them now need
assistance 24/7. While my parents are not the classic candidates
for assisted living because they need more care, in the 2 years
that they lived here The Inn at Robbins Brook has been wonderful
in working with us to come up with an arrangement that meets our
families exact needs. They have helped us ensure that my parents
stay together. In addition, the on-site medical services ensure
that my parents get the medical care they need while maintaining
a bit of independence, which has given me peace of mind.”
Virginia Ross Taylor, Daughter of Marian & John Ross
“I visit a lot of senior living communities and The Inn at
Robbins Brook continues to impress me. Their caring staff, comprehensive
living arrangements, frequent activities and modern and clean facility
cannot be beat. It is a great place to be or end up and even though
I’m still fairly young, I plan on reserving my spot soon.”
Joelle Darcy, Administrator, Acton Public Health Nursing Service
“A
few years ago I began to grow concerned about my now 91-year old
mother living alone in her then independent senior apartment. The
winter especially was a worrisome time because I was constantly
afraid of her falling while taking the trash out or while going
grocery shopping. The assistance that the Inn has provided as well
as the compassionate staff now allows us to rest easy at night.
Because she is so close by and the food is great and reasonably
price, I am able to over often to visit and have dinner with her.”
